The John Muir Trust is a conservation charity dedicated to protecting wild places in the British Isles.
We have been personal members of the conservation charity The John Muir Trust for some time but now we’ve decided to make a bigger commitment to the Trust’s work by taking out corporate membership.
The Trust owns over 12,000 hectares of land on the Isle of Skye, including Strathaird and Bla Bheinn. The Trust’s work on Skye includes footpath maintenance and repairs, woodland regeneration, controlling invasive species, and habitat and wildlife monitoring.
Through our continuing association with the John Muir Trust, we aim to help the organisation to spread the message about the importance of wild lands and to help raise funds for their vital conservation work.
Since living on Skye from April 2016, we have volunteered with footpath improvement activities on Bla Bheinn and assisted Sarah Lewis, the Trust’s Skye Conservation Officer, with a blanket bog survey. Ron joined the April 2017 JMT Skye Volunteer Working Party on footpath maintenance and improvement.
